Abstract:
Data of deep soil moisture at site and regional scaleswere obtained across the whole Chinese Loess Plateau from 1985 to 2021, the soil depth of which varied from 1.5 m to 10 m. All the field sites were classified into three land use types — cropland, grassland and forest, the datasets of which also included their respective soil hydraulic parameters (i.e., soil bulk density). Data are presented in the article (Soil moisture decline in China’s monsoon loess critical zone: More a result of land-use conversion than climate change) in the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (doi:10.1073/pnas.2322127121).
